Milelog
Last updated: 10 August 2026

Milelog records where you drive. That is a map of your life: where you live, where you work, who you visit and when. This policy says plainly what happens to it.

Milelog has no server. Your trips are stored on your phone and are never sent to us, because there is nowhere for them to go.

Who we are

GenesisFlō publishes Milelog. Contact: tech@genesisflo.com.

What Milelog records

Your drives. When each one started and ended, how far you travelled, the route you took, and the coordinates of the two ends. This is what a mileage log is.

What you tell it. Whether a drive was business or personal, the purpose you type, the names you give to places, your vehicles, and their odometer readings.

Nothing else. There is no account, so there is no email address, no password and no profile. Milelog does not ask who you are and has no way to find out.

Where it is stored

In a database file on your device, inside Milelog's own storage. It is covered by your iPhone's encryption and by your passcode.

What is sent off your device

Almost nothing, and never to us. There are exactly two ways data leaves your phone, and you control both.

1. Turning coordinates into a street address. So your log can read "434 Townsend St" instead of two numbers, Milelog asks Apple's geocoding service what is at a coordinate. Apple receives the coordinate. It does not receive your name, your other trips, or anything identifying you to them as a Milelog user, and Apple's handling of that request is governed by Apple's own privacy policy. This happens after a trip is already saved, so it never delays or blocks recording.

If you would rather this never happened, turn off Milelog's network access in iOS Settings. Everything else keeps working; your trips will simply show coordinates instead of addresses.

2. When you export. Tapping Export produces a CSV or a PDF and hands it to the iOS share sheet, where you choose what happens next: email it to your accountant, save it to Files, or cancel. Milelog does not choose the destination and does not keep a copy anywhere else.

What we never do

  • We do not sell your data.
  • We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else.
  • We do not use it to build a profile of you.
  • We do not run analytics, attribution, or crash reporting inside the app. There is no third-party code of any kind in it.
  • We do not receive your location. Not in aggregate, not anonymised, not at all.

Why Milelog needs background location

An app can only measure a drive while the drive is happening, and drives happen with the phone in a pocket or on a dashboard rather than with the app open. That is the entire reason for the "Always" location permission.

Milelog turns precise GPS on only once it has evidence that a drive is underway, and turns it off the moment the drive ends. You can verify this yourself in Settings > Detection, which shows the live state of the detection engine and how many minutes of GPS the app has used today.

Notifications

If you allow them, Milelog sends one notification when a drive is recorded, so you can classify it. That is the only thing it sends. There are no marketing notifications and there is no way for us to send you one, since we do not know your device exists.

Deleting your data

  • One trip: open it and tap Delete trip.
  • Everything: delete the app. Because there is no server copy and no backup we hold, uninstalling removes all of it permanently.

There is no account to close and no deletion request to send us, because we have nothing of yours to delete.

Children

Milelog is not directed at children and is rated 4+ only because it contains nothing objectionable. It is a business record-keeping tool.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change ever means data starts leaving your device in a way it did not before, that will be said plainly here and in the app's release notes, rather than buried in a revision.
